Physical & Occupational Therapy Station

Revitalizing Lives Through Movement

In partnership with the esteemed departments of Physical and Occupational Therapy at SJU, our station is dedicated to providing comprehensive physical examinations, and expert guidance to alleviate pain, improve function, and enhance overall quality of life. Here’s an in-depth overview of what our Physical & Occupational Therapy Station entails:

1. Comprehensive Physical Examination:

Our station is staffed with a team of specialists who conduct thorough physical examinations. The goal is to identify any areas of concern that may be causing pain or limiting the patient’s ability to perform vital functions.

2. Personalized Education on Exercises and Stretches:

The team then does an educational piece with the patients about different exercises and stretches that can be done from anywhere that could alleviate their pain and strengthen the areas of interest with the ultimate goal of eliminating the source of pain.

3. Fine and Gross Motor Skills Enhancement:

If it is found that a patient is having trouble performing daily activities, the occupational therapy team will provide education on and exercises for the improvement of their fine and gross motor skills.

4. Referral to Samson Free Rehab Clinic:

If, during the course of this evaluation, a problem is identified that requires further treatment and follow up care, the patient can be referred to SJU’s Samson Free Rehab Clinic where follow up care will occur free of charge.
